GETTING READY

Spring is almost here, and it's just about time to get the RV's out and start having fun. Here are a few things to remember at least a week before your outing: (1) Check the batteries for water & fill them with distilled water. (2) Fill your propane tanks. (3) Start your refrigerator on PROPANE, and cool it down on PROPANE, then turn on the electric to maintain the cold packed
refrigerator. (4) Turn the furnace on and let it cycle at 70 degrees at least 3 times. (5) Do not de-winterize until the night before you leave, and after you put water into the RV potable tank, you must keep inside the RV heated. Make sure you keep the
bathroom door open, and the under counter sink doors open. (6) Check the inside lights, and the tail lights on the RV. (7) Your air in the tires will be low, so fill the RV tires with air. (8) Check the wheel lug bolts for 90 pounds of torque pressure. You should be ready to use the RV.

GOODBYE TO FRUIT FLIES

To get rid of pesky fruit flies, take a small glass and fill it 1/2" with Apple Cider Vinegar and 2 drops of dish washing liquid, mix well. You will find those flies drawn to the glass and gone forever.

CLEANING FILTERS

Your filters need to be cleaned at least once a year; you have a water filter on the water pump that needs to be taken off and cleaned. This is a filter and it needs only to be taken apart and the screen cleaned with a tooth brush. The screen at the end of your sink faucets need to be taken out by unscrewing them, and cleaning the screen with a toothbrush. Next, the air conditioner screen has to be taken out and washed. You will find two little compression tabs on the bottom side of the inside ceiling air intake. Compress both the tabs and remove the nylon screen, then take it and wash it in soapy water, let it dry, and place it back on the face plate and reinstall. If you have a vent over your kitchen stove, remove the screen in the vent & place it in your dishwasher to clean. Inline water filters need replaced about every 3000 gallons, or once a year. We prefer to filter all the water coming into the RV, so we use a water filter connected to the faucet supplying the water to the RV.
